Position Title:

Maintenance Technician

Wage: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Shift: 3rd

Hours: 10:45pm-7:15am (Mon-Fri + rotating weekends)

This is a Maintenance role for a company in Fredericksburg, IA.

• Comply with all GMP's and Food Safety guidelines.
• Follow plant safety rules and wear appropriate safety equipment.
• Attend all Plant, Quality and Safety Trainings, as required.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, per work orders, to ensure that machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical building conditions do not deteriorate.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance and maintain records of scheduled procedures.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as needed.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions on checklists.
• Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Work with engineers to order, cut, assemble, and weld mezzanines, catwalks, and associated stairs.
• May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.
• Maintain the upkeep of the building by doing repairs and renovations.
• Obtain estimates for supplies and repair parts.
• Maintain forklifts, ammonia cooling systems, steam system, pump systems, electrical system, and boiler system.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

• Candidates MUST HAVE a proven track record of several years of solid work history. Please include details of your work experience on your resume.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have at least 1-3 years of Maintenance experience.
• Must have mechanical experience.
• Must have a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, welding (MIG & TIG), and fabrication.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work orders.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
