Purpose of Position

Produce a defined quantity of parts and components according to company and customer specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Accurately and efficiently complete tasks in all areas of the welding department.
  • Weld parts together using single or multi-pass welds.
  • Tack/weld/fabricate and repair equipment and tooling.
  • Assist with training new welders within the department.
  • Ensure all parts and components are accurate according to specifications.
  • Work with the Quality team and Supervisors to identify and correct weld defects or other welding-related issues.
  • Use and understand various paperwork, including but not limited to schedules, prints, & tech standards.
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments within the work area.
  • Regular, consistent attendance.
Qualifications
  • Strong commitment to quality and working safely.
  • Ability to read various measuring devices (e.g., measuring tape, caliper, micrometer, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently or as a team with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn processes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of welding processes and techniques (i.e., MIG, TIG, etc.).
  • Must have strong organizational skills, be detail‑oriented, and deadline driven.
  • Effectively communicate and understand job instructions, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to interact with Management Team in a professional manner to continually enhance the company’s performance.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or a general education degree (GED);
  • or three to six months related experience and/or training;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Training, Certifications & Licenses
  • PPI Welding Certification
  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.

  • Must be able to frequently stoop/bend.
  • Must be able to regularly use hands and arms.

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of equipment.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assist available.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral vision.
  • Specific hearing abilities required: hear equipment alarms and instructions from others.
Environmental Adaptability
  • Noise level is usually loud.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock, outdoor weather, and extreme heat.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, radiation, vibration, and moving parts.
  • Steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection required where posted. Welding helmet, leather gloves, welding jacket/sleeves required while performing welding duties. Additional PPE may be required when working in other areas.
