What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer to drive targeted, measurable, and sustainable improvements across all operations and support functions. You will co-own strategy and tactical development and execution for site initiatives and coach lean capabilities within the organization. The CI Engineer will work as an individual contributor, team facilitator and/or coach. You will help build a business environment that embraces Kaizen / Continuous Improvement (CI) and structured problem solving.

This position reports to the factory CI Leader.

Responsibilities
  • Coach others to identify and take action to reduce waste, formally and informally
  • Form, facilitate, lead & participate on cross-functional teams
  • Use and coach data-based decision making and problem-solving processes
  • Facilitate, lead & participate in lean conversion actions
  • Train in the use of lean tools and develop lean capability across the organization
  • Work cross-functionally as a problem-solver and team builder
  • Organize Kaizen events and related logistics
  • Maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude in all interactions
  • Collaborate in team environments as both contributor and leader
  • Motivate others to engage with and support the CI vision
  • Communicate effectively across levels and functions
  • Adapt to multiple business environments, audiences, and priorities
  • Share best practices with local CI staff, leadership, and Dover Enterprise teams
  • Document processes and develop system documentation as appropriate
  • Write business cases and capital expenditure requests; assess financial impact of sustained CI actions
  • Lead or co-lead facility and operations upgrades or enhancements
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
Basic Qualifications
  • Ideally 5 to 7 years of Continuous Improvement experience; will consider all candidates with relevant bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean language proficiency
  • 10+ years of proven experience implementing and sustaining DM, Flow, SW, POU, PULL
  • Hands-on experience with TPS/Lean Fundamentals (5S, SW, PSP, Kaizen, DM, VSM, TPI, Poka-Yoke, etc.)
  • Experience leading a Kaizen Promotion Office (KPO)
  • Experience leading Kaizens through Lean OPEX conversion
  • Cross-functional experience in Operations, Material Flow, Supply Chain, Customer Support, Accounting, Product Development
  • Experience with Project and Change Management tools
  • 2+ years project management experience
  • Experience as a people manager or production supervisor
  • Strong computer and MS Office skills
