Position Summary:
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our ice cream shop to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing scheduling, ordering supplies, and handling day-to-day issues, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and that customers have a pleasant experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Scheduling and Staff Management
- Team of 15-20 employees: - Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during all operating hours.
- Address any staffing issues, including resolving conflicts and improving performance.
- Inventory and Ordering:
- Monitor ice cream and topping inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure the shop is well-stocked.
- Implement inventory control systems to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Customer Service:
- Maintain high standards of customer service, addressing any customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
- Train staff in customer service best practices and lead by example.
- Menu Management using Opti Signs Software
- Operational Efficiency:
- Analyze daily sales and operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with budgeting and financial management to optimize profitability.
- Monitor sales and expenses to ensure financial targets are met.
- Banking and deposits
- Strong people skills with a passion for serving team members.
- Commitment to superior customer service- connect with guests with a smile and eye contact.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment- including standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50lbs.
- Knowledge and attention to safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures
- Complete Serv Safe Training and Certification
- Ability to manage team member performance and behavior.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
- Proven experience in retail or food service management, ideally in a similar environment.
- Prior experience in a leadership role
