Summary: Working under the oversight of the Ponca Gaming Enterprise Board of Directors, the General Manager directs, plans, and implements the objectives of the casino business by actively maximizing gross gaming revenues and corresponding net income before distributions using leadership skills while ensuring fair and equitable application of policies and procedures. This role is responsible for all administration functions, overseeing key gaming and executive level personnel, and daily operations of Prairie Flower Casino including relation ancillary activities.
Responsibilities- Develops strategies and executes activities to drive and continually improve financial results, guest satisfaction, and human capital efficiencies. Works with Ponca Gaming Enterprise (PGE) to set business goals aligned with Prairie Flower Casino’s Mission, support the company’s Mission and Core Values while growing revenue.
- Direct and coordinate activities to plan procedures, establish responsibilities, and coordinate functions among departments.
- Direct and coordinate the promotion of services performed to develop new markets, increase share of the market, and obtain a competitive position in the industry.
- Responsible for oversight of all internal controls and procedures to ensure protection of company assets and enforcement of Prairie Flower Casino policies and procedures.
- Ensure the highest level of integrity is maintained across Tribal Gaming Operations. Role models ethical business practices and ensures processes are in place for reporting and addressing ethics violations in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintains confidentiality and protects proprietary information while holding others accountable for protection of company data.
- Set expectations and accountability for management level staff through coaching, guidance, and performance management. Develop high-potential leaders and work with HR to set career paths and succession planning.
- Ensure implementation of strategic and brand initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement of results.
- Support the management team in delivering services and products to meet or exceed guest expectations and increase guest loyalty.
- Support Human Resources on activities supporting tribal hiring preference and development opportunities including training and promotion of Tribal members.
- Set expectations to hire, develop and retain top-performing Team Members across all levels of the organization.
- Oversee casino financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiencies to achieve or exceed budget expectations, including capital expenditures.
- Develop trust-based partnerships with Prairie Flower Casino ownership by communicating effectively with the Tribal Council and meeting or exceeding performance expectations of PGE.
- Build a professional relationship with the Gaming Regulatory Commission to protect PGE assets.
- Ensure operational compliance with policies and procedures, TMICS, State/Tribal Compact, debt obligations, and other compliance requirements.
- Analyze operations to evaluate performance and identify cost reductions and program improvements.
- Develop and implement current and long-range operational goals, objectives, plans and policies for approval by Ponca Gaming Enterprise.
- Prepare and review business plans and operating budgets; monitor actual performance versus budget.
- Oversee Prairie Flower Casino marketing programs to ensure cost-effective promotional activities are developed and coordinated to align with budget projections; maintain an ongoing marketing plan.
- Develop and monitor public relations policies to promote Prairie Flower Casino and build brand awareness and guest loyalty.
- Negotiate and oversee approved contracts with suppliers and distributors to ensure compliance with policies and objectives.
- Handle complaints, arbitrate disputes, and resolve grievances.
