• Supervise a 4,000+ head sow farm and related personnel, including day‑to‑day tasks of the farm and ensuring production targets are met.
• Ensure the care and conditioning of sows on the farm.
• Direct the breeding and raising of swine using recognized breeding practices.
• Supervise swine examinations to identify diseases.
• Ensure standard operating procedures are followed and facilities are in good working condition.
• Meet daily and weekly production targets.
• Collect and record production data.
• Complete and submit production analysis reports in a timely manner.
• Submit orders for farm supplies and maintenance needs.
• Monitor breeding and grading to ensure adherence to safety regulations or standards.
• Create and manage employee work schedules.
• Maintain accurate personnel paperwork, including performance evaluations, and provide constructive and timely feedback to employees.
• Supervise 5–6 farm hands.
• No hire/fire authority.

• Requires two years of swine experience.
• Experience in all processes of swine production from gestation through farrowing.
• Experience training in artificial insemination in swine.
• Experience managing a swine farm with at least 1,200 head.
• Experience following detailed standard operating procedures.
• Experience managing four or more animal caretakers on a sow farm.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds, and sometimes push and/or move up to 300 pounds.
• Must be proficient in English reading and writing.
