SummaryThe Maintenance Laborer is responsible for various activities such as facility housekeeping and cleanup, handling and sorting materials, help troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment and productive maintenance systems and process to support the achievement of the site’s business goals.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Maintains the facility by keeping the yard and shop clean and free of debris, performing repairs, and painting.
- Inspects equipment and systems for preventive maintenance.
- Makes minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and other routine building maintenance and repair duties.
- Cleans and keeps indoor and outdoor areas of buildings, equipment, and grounds maintained.
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Notifies Leadman or Supervisor of any materials and/or equipment required for completion of job tasks.
- Follows all EHS rule and regulations

Minimum Qualifications- Ability to work and communicate within a team setting.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship
- Ability to accommodate on-call responsibilities and work overtime when needed to support production staff.
- One to two years work experience
- Experience working in a production environment
- Experience working with and understanding OSHA regulations
Physical Requirements Work Environment
The physical environment requires the employee to work in hot and cold environments, in and out of the weather, work safely around heavy equipment and on top of and under railcars, as well as around railroad tracks. Employees are required to use personal protective equipment such as steel toe boots, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, welding and grinding shields, etc.
