Groundskeeper

Duties and Responsibilities

The tasks listed below represent the majority of the time spent in this role. Management may assign additional tasks related to the job as needed. Responsibilities include routine maintenance and upkeep of campus grounds and related equipment, assisting maintenance and custodial staff, delivery of mail and materials across campus, setup and tear down of rooms for classes and meetings, traffic and parking monitoring, unlocking and locking of buildings, monitoring system alarms and emergency equipment, painting, cleaning and repair of buildings and equipment, inventory management and coordination of ordering parts and supplies.

• Assist with snow removal and treating of all entry ways, sidewalks and parking areas as needed.
• Snow/ice removal hours resulting in overtime or comp time must be pre‑approved by the Plant Services Director.
• Perform routine inspection on equipment and report needs to the Plant Service Director.
• Complete required training as needed or assigned.
• Complete other duties as assigned by plant services and/or site supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of three years’ experience in grounds and/or maintenance.
• Post‑secondary education in horticulture/arboriculture or equivalent experience desired.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Knowledge of maintenance and operation of equipment including lawnmowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, and snow‑moving equipment.
• Must be able to maintain a courteous, pleasant attitude and be a loyal team member.
• Must meet general physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
