The Facilities Controller will be responsible for carrying out a variety of advanced skill routine duties and emergency tasks related to the maintenance and repair of Health Clinic buildings, facilities, and grounds.
DUTIES:- The Facilities Controller is accountable for providing timely and cost-effective routine maintenance of the Health Clinic facilities including Elder’s Center.
- General maintenance includes painting of interior and exterior surfaces, stucco repair, replacement of floor, drywall, window glass, doors and screens, and installation of door alarm system.
- Minor plumbing repairs to replace or install bathroom/kitchen fixtures and/or pipes. Monitors air units and HVAC systems, change filters, and order repairs as needed.
- May be required to perform heavy construction associated with the repair or replacement of facilities parking lot include major projects for American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance. This work involves conducting a biding process under procurement policies.
- Must provide timely and effective emergency repair services for facilities as assigned by the Clinic Director. This may include after-hour repairs.
- Provide timely and effective care of grounds to include cleaning of common areas, walks, parking lots for debris, and disposal of refuse.
- Responsible for insuring adequate number of supplies, materials, and equipment to perform assigned duties. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance of tools and equipment and their safe use.
- Will prepare and submit work logs and other documentation/reports as required to the Clinic Director.
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance, prioritize and schedule work orders according to urgency of work.
- Proven ability to manage and oversees projects assigned.
- Inspect property and determine maintenance requirements including inventory control and equipment working properly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience of at least two years in general building and grounds maintenance.
- Experience in the use of a variety of tools and proven ability to operate a variety of equipment. maintain tools and equipment in working order; perform routine equipment safety inspections.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively without constant direct supervision.
- Ability to work alone and with others in a safe manner consistent with the type of work performed.
- Must be physically fit and able to perform strenuous construction labor in and outdoors.
- Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire; must possess and maintain a valid Nevada Driver License and must qualify for the vehicle insurance policy.
- Ability to interpret laws, regulations, and conform to other applicable codes to specific construction or maintenance requirements.
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to pass a security background check.
- Must be knowledgeable with health and safety codes required for construction projects.
