Job SummaryThe Oracle Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. The role involves working closely with development teams, system administrators, and stakeholders to support database-related operations and projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database systems and architectures.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries for efficiency.
- Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans for Oracle environments.
- Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls.
- Collaborate with application developers to design database schemas, stored procedures, and functions.
- Perform database upgrades, patching, and migrations as required.
- Create and maintain database documentation, including schemas, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical support for database-related issues and participate in root cause analysis.
- Stay updated on Oracle technologies, best practices, and industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, Oracle Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Database versions (e.g., 11g, 12c, 19c) and features.
- Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with backup/recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions.
- Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux or Windows Server.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Experience with monitoring tools and database performance tuning.
- Attention to detail and commitment to database security and integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Oracle certifications such as OCA, OCP, or OCM.
- Experience with cloud-based Oracle solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS).
- Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Chef, etc.) for database deployment and management.
- Experience with PL/SQL development and Oracle application integration.
