Our client, a leading organization in data center operations and IT infrastructure, is seeking a Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician to join their team.

As a Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician, you will be part of a team supporting inventory management, equipment lifecycle, and compliance activities.

6-18 month contract

West Des Moines, IA

12 hour shifts, Sun - Tues & Every other Wed; day shift

$28/hour

• Oversee equipment lifecycle, including receiving, deployment, and decommissioning.
• Manage RMA processes for components, including shipping and receiving.
• Track and maintain detailed physical inventory of components and equipment.
• Perform secure destruction of data-bearing devices (hard drives, SSDs) following documented procedures.
• Monitor systems for equipment failures or performance errors and respond appropriately.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 2+ years experience in warehouse/supply chain within an IT environment.
• Previous experience working in a data center environment required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving ability, and customer service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
