We are looking for a Bridge Software Engineer who will be responsible for collaborating with the Software Development team and managing the software development process to ensure projects meet the requirements of our Japanese clients.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a bridge between Japanese clients and the development team in Vietnam, ensuring all information is communicated accurately, clearly, and timely.
- Convey client requirements and expectations to the development team; explain technical issues so clients can understand project progress.
- Directly manage and coordinate projects: plan, track progress, supervise quality and scope, ensuring projects are completed on time and according to specifications.
- Proactively handle any issues during project execution (product quality, requirement changes, schedule delays, etc.).
- Manage and store project documents (Japanese documentation, reports, meeting minutes, etc.) according to regulationsli>
- Provide technical recommendations and solutions to enhance project efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Maintain shared understanding and promote positive, effective collaboration between clients and the team.
- Understand project overview: scope, technologies used, main features, business requirements, and potential risks.
- Develop project plans (timeline, milestones, resource plans).
- Collaborate with PM to define goals, requirements, and KPIs for each stage.
- Participate in effort estimation to ensure feasibility and optimal resource allocation.
- Organize meetings to review documentation (spec reviews, kickoff meetings, etc.), take notes, and summarize points to confirm with clients.
- Translate documents if necessary, or request support from APO (Comtor); all documents must be stored on Google Drive.
- Discuss solutions with the team, identify challenges and resolve them in advance.
- Create and maintain a Q&A file (may be bilingual) to track questions; APO reviews before finalizing responses to clients.
- Receive client questions, coordinate with the team, and provide consolidated responses.
- Explain client questions to the team or clarify team responses to clients when needed.
- Coordinate with project management on resource requirements for each project phase.
- Conduct cost control meetings and update project estimates based on feedback.
- Prepare report templates for daily/weekly project reporting.
- Schedule internal and client meetings.
- Track and update backlog status to monitor overall project progress, or request responsible members to update tickets.
- Organize weekly internal meetings on project management and risk/issue management.
- Generate reports for clients and management, highlighting key issues for discussion.
- Report project progress to clients and management in weekly meetings.
- Ensure projects meet key objectives: schedule, quality, cost, and client satisfaction.
- Ability to create necessary templates for projects.
- Proficient with common project management tools such as Backlog, Jira, Asana.
- Basic knowledge of at least one programming language and source code structure.
- Understanding of at least one MVC framework (e.g., Laravel, Spring Boot).
- Knowledge of Git and Git Flow.
- Basic understanding of infrastructure and AWS services for web operation.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and common HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE).
- Familiarity with web operations, request/response handling, and status codes (200, 400, 401, 403, 500, etc.).
- Understanding of testing models (unit test, integration test, system test, acceptance test), as well as Monkey Test, Regression Test, with ability to verify product quality.
- Soft skills for project management: communication, team understanding, problem-solving, and coordination.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a BrSE or project manager in a Japanese client environment.
- Proficient in Japanese (N2 or above), preferably with direct client communication experience.
