The role operates in a Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) setting, providing medical, social, and supportive services for Iowans with functional, cognitive, or other physical or mental health needs. As a Direct Support Professional
, you will help individuals achieve personal goals and manage daily activities while collaborating with the care team.

• Collaborate with the HCBS Supervisor and HCBS Programmer to develop individualized goals.
• Provide services based on unique goals and behavioral care plans, including teaching self‑with strategies.
• Use behavioral strategies to address behaviors that hinder success.
• Motivate and encourage participation in behavior plans.
• Participate in recreational, community, and social activities honoring the individual's choices.
• Apply rights‑restrictions appropriately as dictated by the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain complete, consistent, and accurate documentation of progress.
• Provide safe environments and instruction related to practice for reaching goals.
• Assist with hygienic needs, clothing, medication administration, and dietary choices.
• Advocate for individuals to retain control over their lives; treat all with respect and empowerment.

• Age requirement: at least 16 years for SCL, 18 years for HAB (apply if unsure).
