- Improve the accuracy of outpatient clinical documentation coding and charging through education and support
- Assist clinical areas in effective documentation of services and compliance with policies
- Review health records to determine applicable charges/codes for hospital/facility billing
- Utilize coding/billing resources to ensure accurate documentation and compliance
- Maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Certification as a CPC-Certified Professional Coder, COC-Certified Outpatient Coder, RHIA, or RHIT
- Minimum of 5 years of recent relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding processes, and billing functions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC preferred)
- Strong project management skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with government and commercial payer requirements
- Knowledge of Medicare APC and OPPS reimbursement structures
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
