OverviewRocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Patient Service Coordinator in Lonetree (Skyridge Medical Center Campus). - Schedule new patients and return appointments in the computer system in accordance with physician and office guidelines; cancel or reschedule appointments per physician schedule changes; notify appropriate clinic personnel.
- Obtain and enter all authorization and correspondence related to referrals in patient charts and computer.
- Schedule outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions upon request.
- Obtain necessary pre‑certification; handle new patient referrals, gather necessary information, assign patient account number, and schedule appointment.
- Collect co‑pays, deductible and other out‑of‑pocket amounts at time of visit; maintain primary office scheduling book containing all physician meetings, satellite schedule, rounding and call coverage.
- Handle incoming phone calls from patients needing to schedule or reschedule appointments.
- Provide patients with accurate and legible appointment cards; document no shows in patient’s chart; follow up to reschedule missed appointments; arrange for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
- Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
- Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
- Cover other front office functions as requested.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Position requires at least 3 years office experience; medical office experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with computer systems required;
Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel experience a plus.

Physical DemandsJob requires sitting for long periods, stooping, bending, stretching, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination for computer work, and occasional lifting of files or paper up to 30 pounds. Corrected vision and hearing within normal range for telephone use are required. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
Work EnvironmentWork may expose employee to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to oncology/hematology clinic environments. Interaction with co‑workers, management and clients is frequent; minimal travel by automobile may be required.
