Job Summary

Assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises under the supervision of an occupational therapist to enhance their quality of life and ability to perform daily activities. Provide, monitor, and document therapy services for individuals with physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial impairments, following standard practices and procedures. Select and modify therapeutic activities based on competency levels, patient goals, and setting requirements. Communicate with occupational therapists regarding patient responses and outcomes.

Follow clinical practice guidelines and perform additional duties as needed.

Work may focus on post-acute, long-term care, or home health environments depending on facility needs.

Qualifications
  • Appropriate education level per state licensure requirements
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice
  • Preferred:
    Certification through NBCOT if working at a Sanford Health Facility
  • Valid driver's license may be required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment
