Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES) is seeking a Environmental Safety Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2026. This exciting opportunity will be based at our Koch Fertilizer plant in Fort Dodge, Iowa. At Koch, we believe in empowering the next generation of talent. As an Environmental Safety Intern, you’ll join a collaborative and innovative team focused on protecting people, the environment, and our operations. What You Will Do- Learn and Apply EH&S Practices:
Gain hands‑on experience with work permitting, energy control, hot work protocols, and confined space entry. - Collaborate on EH&S Initiatives:
Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) audits, incident investigations, and projects that require expertise in H&S. - Support Program Implementation:
Assist with developing and executing EH&S programs and delivering training sessions to employees and contractors. - Build Relationships Across Teams:
Work closely with operations, maintenance, and contractor personnel to understand business needs and provide solutions. - Enhance Regulatory Knowledge:
Expand your understanding of, and ability to apply, environmental and safety regulations such as those from OSHA, EPA, IDNR, NFPA, ANSI, the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and other compliance frameworks. - Contribute to
Risk Management:
Develop your capabilities with risk‑planning tools to proactively identify and address potential hazards.
- Currently enrolled in a degree program or alternative education program (e.g., 2‑year technical college, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.).
- Eligible for full‑time employment on or before Summer 2028.
- Legally authorized to work permanently in the United States without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship.
- Pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Prior coursework or experience in safety, compliance, or environmental management.
