PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Manufacturing Engineer improves production by developing efficient processes and methods that enhance quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Working closely with manufacturing leaders and employees, this role drives continuous improvement initiatives that optimize the use of people, equipment, materials, and financial resources. The Manufacturing Engineer also supports new product introductions to ensure smooth transitions into production and develops innovative solutions to manufacturing challenges aligned with Precision’s strategic goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, layouts, and equipment to support production.
- Lead process development, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage projects from concept through completion, including large‑scale efforts.
- Collaborate with operations, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and drive improvements.
- Provide hands‑on support on the manufacturing floor and troubleshoot production challenges.
- Document and standardize processes, work instructions, and preventive maintenance procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and practical implementation.
- Experience in manufacturing methods, quality practices, and CAD tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work across cross‑functional teams.
- Proven organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related) or a technical degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Applied Sciences).
- 3+ years of experience in one or more related areas: manufacturing, industrial, quality, or process engineering.
- 2+ years of experience with process development, tooling design, fixturing, and workstation layout.
- 2+ years of experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, or Draft Sight.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Manufacturing Methods & Tools – Applies expertise in manufacturing processes, CAD tools, and equipment to support production and new product launches.

- Data-Driven Decision Making – Uses data, metrics, and analysis to troubleshoot, validate improvements, and support business cases.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Builds effective partnerships with operations, quality, supply chain, and leadership.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to frequently stoop/bend.
- Must be able to regularly use hands and arms.
- Must be able to regularly stand and walk.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
- Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear equipment alarms and the ability to hear instructions from others.
- Must be able to travel by vehicle or plane up to 50% of the workday – Travel as needed.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud when on the production floor and moderate when working in the office.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions.
- Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection when in the production area.
