Job DescriptionANTICIPATED Instrumental Music Position for at Treynor CSD
The Treynor Community School District is looking to hire an instrumental music teacher to join our staff for the school year.
Treynor CSD is located east of the Omaha/Council Bluffs metropolitan area and serves approximately 800 students in grades K-12. All three schools in our school district are rated High Performing or higher, based upon the Iowa School Performance Profile and our community has a strong history of support for our instrumental music program, and supports our mission to provide positive learning experiences for all of our students.
Qualified applicants would be eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa for a teaching assignment in grades 5-12 Instrumental Music. Strong consideration will be given to candidates that also possess experience teaching instrumental music, marching band, and experiences working with jazz ensembles.
Candidates should demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Experience teaching middle and high school students is preferred.
- Strong understanding of all instruments in a concert band and the ability to teach individual student lessons.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Understand and apply best practice for current performances in competitive marching band.
- Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Proven regular/consistent communication with students, parents, and/or other stakeholders.
- Evidence of a strong work ethic, time management and communication needed to build and maintain a complete and competitive instrumental music program.
- Meets professional responsibilities as outlined in the Professional Growth Assessment Plan, Employee Handbook, and Board policy.
