Lisbon Community School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educator to join our team as a 0.5 FTE Secondary Social Studies Teacher. Lisbon CSD is committed to empowering students and creating possibilities through strong relationships, high expectations, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will teach secondary social studies courses aligned to the Iowa Core Standards. Specific course assignments will be determined based on district needs and candidate strengths. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to create engaging, relevant learning experiences that promote critical thinking, civic understanding, and real-world connections.

• Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate Social Studies endorsement (5–12 preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Iowa Core Social Studies standards
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and collaborative team structures
• Willingness to integrate technology and data-informed instructional practices
• Passion for helping students prepare for post-secondary success

• Experience teaching middle and/or high school social studies
• Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs
• Knowledge of formative assessment practices and standards-based grading
