Lawton-Bronson Elementary is seeking a TK–6 Music Teacher with 6th Grade Band responsibilities for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will take over a well-established and successful music and band program and will have the opportunity to continue building upon a strong foundation of student participation and community support.

• Provide general music instruction for students in Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade
  .
• Lead and develop the 6th Grade Band program
  , fostering student growth and musical skills.
• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate music instruction aligned to curriculum standards.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student creativity and confidence.
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and staff to support school-wide initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and program activities.
• Participate in concerts, performances, professional development, and school events as appropriate.

• Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate Music endorsement(s) K-8 or K-12 Music (or ability to obtain).
• Experience teaching elementary music and/or beginning band is preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Passion for music education and commitment to student growth.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team-focused school culture.
