Salary: $2,000 to $15,000 per course based on credits.

Fordham Law School invites applications for an adjunct instructor position to teach law courses in National Security Law and related issues
. The Law School is particularly interested in courses that combine both theory and current legal practice.

Course topics could include:

  • the balance between security and civil liberties
  • the powers of different branches of government
  • specific areas such as domestic and foreign intelligence surveillance
  • the use of force
  • the law of war
  • counter terrorism
  • an analysis of the legal challenges of balancing national security secrecy with the public's right to information
Responsibilities
  • Teach an engaging course at the Law School exploring legal issues in National Security, including an in-depth analysis of case law, statutes, regulations, and practice-oriented documents.
  • Develop a thirteen-week syllabus that covers essential topics within a National Security domain. Foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment conducive to critical thinking, discussion, and debate.
  • Shape a set of learning objectives that students will master by the end of the course.
  • Evaluate and grade student performance in alignment with the appropriate grading curves, providing constructive feedback to foster students’ understanding of core concepts.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree with a specialization in National Security Law subject area.
  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
