School Summary Iowa Connections Academy (IACA) is a tuition‑free, full‑time virtual public school for students in grades K‑12 throughout Iowa. IACA partners with the CAM Community School District in Anita, IA and is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, an Advanc

ED division.

Accepting applications for the 2025‑2026 school year. Working from your home in Iowa or the office in Anita, certified teachers will manage instructional programs, consult regularly with learning coaches and students, and ensure each child successfully completes the instructional program.

• Complete grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner.
• Support the instructional program with asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction.
• Create and deliver lesson plans using the curriculum, state standards, and digital resources, advising alternate approaches to increase student engagement and understanding.
• Communicate with parents, students, and teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans, score assessments, provide feedback, coach projects, and monitor assignments.
• Collaborate with other teachers to ensure student progression, central parent contact, and equitable task distribution.
• Develop a general knowledge of Iowa’s state standards, the K‑12 curriculum, and detailed course content for responsibilities.
• Support students and parents with alternate strategies and provide additional assistance with daily assignments and projects.
• Maintain student records and data, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance accounting, and logging all contacts.
• Consult with teachers, staff, and learning specialists to develop accommodations, alternate enrichment activities, and modifications for students’ programs.
• Coordinate social activities and relevant field trips, manage and attend trips, and integrate virtual and in‑person trips into the curriculum.
• Devise and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a “school community.”
• Participate in the organization and administration of state testing and student recruiting sessions for marketing efforts.
• Work with Advisory Teachers and School Counselors to ensure students and families receive appropriate communications and progress toward established goals.
• Contribute to innovative student learning, digital enhancements, and curriculum via committees and Professional Learning Communities.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Highly qualified and certified to teach Middle School English‑Language Arts in Iowa, appropriate to grade level and content area responsibilities.
• Experience with Professional Learning Communities.
• Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft OS and MS Office programs.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Customer‑focused approach and high degree of flexibility.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment and as a team player.
• Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel).
• Ability to work remotely, if necessary.
• Ability to support some families with occasional evening hours as needed.
• Must be able to use a personal electronic device and email address for 2‑step authentication.
