- Full-time schedule:
Monday/Tuesday 7:30-5:00;
Wednesday 7:30-4:00;
Thursday 6:30-4:00;
First Friday of the month 7:30-12:00;
No weekends - Competitive pay based on experience and certifications
- Location:
1471 E 1st Street, Grimes, IA 50111
- Greet and welcome patients from their first appointment and support patient comfort and education throughout treatment
- Review patient health history to provide quality care
- Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
- Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide range of procedures in accordance with state dental practice act
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
- Prepare treatment rooms with adherence to safety protocols following OSHA & CDC recommendations
- Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders as needed
- Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow
- Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Experience in fast-paced, customer-centric environments
- Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state dental practice act
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Access to minimum PHI for job functions; regular HIPAA training and data safeguards required
- 1+ years of experience as a dental assistant strongly preferred
- Dentrix or other dental software experience
- Dental assisting school certification in IA with x-ray certification required
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds
- Availability to attend virtual or in-person training sessions periodically
- TB test required for all new hires in dental office positions; test arranged during pre-employment process (not applicable in FL & TN)
