Job Type: Full-Time, In Person, at Okoboji, Iowa
- Act as the first point of contact for customers requiring service, repairs, or maintenance.
- Listen to customer concerns, document symptoms or requests accurately, and translate them into clear work orders.
- Provide cost estimates, explain service recommendations, and obtain customer approval prior to work.
- Communicate with customers throughout the service process, providing timely updates on repair status, costs, and completion timelines.
- Ensure all customer interactions reflect Parks Marina’s standards of professionalism and service quality.
- Create, process, and close work orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Record labor, parts, and materials in the service management system.
- Coordinate with the Parts Department to verify parts availability and order necessary items for jobs.
- Assist the Service Manager with warranty submissions, documentation, and claims tracking as needed.
- Review service tickets for accuracy before billing, ensuring prompt and proper invoicing.
- Schedule service appointments and coordinate technician assignments to optimize productivity.
- Communicate effectively with technicians to ensure accurate job documentation and smooth workflow.
- Support the Service Manager in maintaining shop organization, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Help identify opportunities to improve service department processes and customer experience.
- Previous experience in a service-related environment (marine, automotive, RV, or similar) strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems or service processes (marine industry experience a plus).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computers, service management systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork.
- Work is performed primarily indoors in a service office/shop environment with some exposure to outdoor marina facilities.
- Must be able to move around boats, docks, and service areas to inspect jobs as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Must be comfortable working around water, boats, and mechanical equipment.
- Ensure timely and accurate creation and processing of all work orders.
- Provide clear, professional communication to customers at every stage of the service process.
- Support efficient scheduling and workflow across the Service Department.
- Collaborate effectively with technicians, parts personnel, and management.
- Contribute to high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business through exceptional service.
