Construction Estimator

We are actively seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Construction Estimator to join a long‑standing, family‑owned construction company specializing in high‑end custom residential projects, light commercial work, and restoration‑related services.

Base Pay Range

$65,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
  • Meet with customers to gather project scope, review plans, and understand design selections.
  • Prepare detailed estimates and professional proposals for residential, high‑end custom, and light commercial projects.
  • Perform material takeoffs and determine labor requirements with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Schedule and meet subcontractors on‑site to review scope of work and solicit competitive bids.
  • Request, gather, compare, and track multiple subcontractor and vendor quotes across numerous projects.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers to ensure estimates align with execution and timelines.
  • Manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Spend approximately 60% of time in‑office preparing estimates and proposals, and 40% on job sites.
  • Assist with job selling when applicable, adding value through client‑facing communication and follow‑up.
Requirements
  • 1–5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related residential construction role.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction; experience with high‑end or custom homes is highly preferred.
  • Construction‑related degree is a plus, but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to read plans, perform takeoffs, and understand construction sequencing.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask across multiple projects.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, client‑focused mindset.
  • Residential construction background is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, or extended hours based on business needs.
