Established in 1926, Camp Tanager provides day and overnight camp programs to over 1,000 campers each summer. Campers from all backgrounds are welcome to attend our programs designed for fun, fitness, friendship and learning. Camp Tanager was voted Coolest Camp in Iowa in 2016 by The Philadelphia Inquirer for our unique and expansive program offerings.

- Overnight Camp Assistant Director schedule is Sunday PM - Friday afternoon.
- Rate of pay is $550 per week.
- 2026 Camp Dates are June 1st – August 7th.
The Overnight Camp Assistant Director is responsible for operations of Camp Tanager programming. This role also provides direct support to the Camp Director in all aspects of program development, ensuring compliance with all applicable program, safety and licensing/certification standards. You will help create and foster a strong interdepartmental sense of teamwork and cooperation and provide assistance to the Camp Director in the process of recruiting, hiring and training of all full time and seasonal staff.
Job Requirements- Graduation from High School or GED
- At least four years experience with camp programs for children
- At least one year demonstrated leadership role
- First AID and CPR certified.
