Job Summary Essential Functions
Perform market analysis to ensure competitive bidding is performed for proposals to ensure the company is obtaining pricing and costs that are representative of an open market.Ensure and recognize that service contracts are in place when processing onsite service purchase orders.Build and Manage Contracts for onsite service work.Monitor the distribution of inquiries and bid packages to vendors. Organize bid meetings and ensure bidders receive complete specifications. Receive and evaluate sealed bids, prepare bid analysis sheets, and recommend favorable bidder.Create purchase orders that are a legal agreement and will commit the company to economic liability.Ensure timely delivery of material requirements for Planning in line with the approved planning schedule.Provide commercial information to Project Managers of any critical issues within assigned goods and services.Responsible for utilizing a material management system that produces accurate and timely purchase orders.Attend assigned departmental meetings as required.Submit competitive requests for quotes to suppliers and input into JDE system for evaluation and award.Process requests for shipping documents for all materials leaving mine site. Processing returnsnear and credit requests.Process and monitor material costs of stock and non-stock purchase requisitions in accordance with Kinross Supply Chain Policy.Negotiate transportation and FOB terms that are appropriate for the goods to ensure minimal risk.Expand bidders list by sourcing new suppliers. Monitor the distribution of inquiries and bid packages to vendors. Organize bid meetings and ensure bidders receive complete specifications. Receive and evaluate sealed bids,ingers prepare bid analysis sheets, and recommend favorable bidders.Participate in special procurement projects initiated by operating company.Attend regular maintenance planning meetings to support and commit to the agreed schedule.Rotate with other buyers on scheduled “On-Call” duty on the weekends.Perform contract management and capital expenditures as directed/assigned by the Materials Manager.Follow and ensure Supply Chain policies are followed.Expedite and track orders that are past due and update MRP system with current delivery dates.
