Location: Granger
The Accountant I position is responsible for assisting the accounting department with the day-to-day tasks. Including but not limited to, receiving and applying checks, posting quantities, signing lien waivers, recording entries, and completing monthly reconciliations.
Principal Responsibilities- Receiving checks
- Applying checks to the correct invoice, AIA, and estimates in the accounting software
- Applying paid quantities to unit price billings
- Create new estimates as necessary
- Sign and return lien waivers
- Communicate with project managers on accounts receivable collections
- Prepare journal entries
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Associate degree or equivalent experience of 1-3 years accounting experience preferred
- Must be familiar with computers, emailing, and able to work with Microsoft applications
- Detail oriented
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of all accounting sequencing/critical timeline scheduling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software
