Job Overview

The University of Iowa Center for Advancement (UICA) is looking for a student worker to assist the Athletics Development team. This role involves supporting prospect management and qualification, data entry, event preparation, and other tasks as assigned by various athletics development colleagues. The student will gain valuable experience in Athletic Annual Giving, Major Gifts, campaign planning and preparation, and event management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Focused work in donor qualification from our Athletics Annual Giving pool, requiring active phone and digital qualification of new and upgraded donor prospects. Will engage in donor qualification strategies and work with gift officers to coordinate personal visits.
  • Campaign set-up and support work for a series of fundraising initiatives, including:
    • Gymnastics & Spirit Squad facility
    • Baseball facility
    • Special projects
    • Prospect identification and qualification on these projects
  • Event support and logistics for our busy summer event schedule.
  • Participate in preparing the football ticket mailing process.
  • Entering data into CRM database system and pulling data to prepare for donor meetings.
  • Writing thank you notes on behalf of our I-Club office.
Skills:
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High productivity and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for effective collaboration with internal colleagues and external constituents.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a bachelor's degree and be currently enrolled at the University of Iowa pursuing a graduate degree (minimum of 12 credit hours).
  • Must be enrolled in the UI Sport & Rec Management program.

Begin date: Fall 2025 semester through the academic year.

Hours per week: Flexible hours between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (some possible nights or weekends for special events). Average of 12-20 hours per week.
