My name is Nozomi Tanaka, and I am an Associate Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Iowa.
I am currently seeking a Research Assistant to support a study that will use child‑friendly language tasks and interviews to collect data on bilingual language development for a future grant proposal.
Qualifications- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Proficient in both Tagalog and English
- Experience working with children
- Connection to local Filipino communities
- Compensation: $25/hour
- Time commitment:
Estimated at 30–45 hours, including training, data collection, and travel. Actual hours may vary depending on commute distance and the research assistant’s availability and scheduling preferences.
- Flexible scheduling, with data collection to be completed by the end of the year
- Transportation and other necessary research expenses will be covered
Individuals who assist with this pilot study will be invited to continue in a similar role for the subsequent depending on their availability.
