Clinical Practice Leader - Adult Short Stay (LL JCP)

The patient population cared for on this unit includes both medical and surgical patients who are typically admitted for an estimated 24‑48 hour stay. Patient diagnoses frequently treated in medical observation include chest pain, abdominal pain, back pain, and syncope. Surgical recovery patients include procedures under orthopedics, urology, plastics, cardiology, among others. We rely on teamwork to provide high quality and compassionate care and to give patients the necessary education for a safe transition home following their short stay.

Percent of Time: 100%
Schedule: Monday‑Friday, day shift, shared leadership on‑call

Master’s degree in Nursing required. Specialty in Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL/CNS) designation preferred.
Required Qualifications- Current, valid license to practice nursing in Iowa
- 3+ years of clinical nursing experience
- Demonstrates knowledge and experience with:
- Staff education and development
- Outcomes‑based practice and quality improvement
- Leading change processes including implementation of evidence‑based practice
- Exemplary interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficient in computer software applications
- Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) – Certification by the Commission on Nurse Certification or certification relevant to clinical specialty
- Ability to understand and deliver care at the microsystem level while being part of a larger, complex environment
- Role models professional and clinical practice
- Experience with nursing research
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with ability to problem solve
- Member/active participation in professional organization(s)
