Overview
Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University of Iowa is seeking an IT Warehouse Manager to oversee all warehouse operations for the Information Technology enterprise across campus.
Key Job Duties (not All Inclusive)
- Ensure the efficient receipt, storage, staging, and distribution of all IT equipment on campus.
- Coordinate daily workflows, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure all warehouse activities are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Purchase inventory in a timely manner, following University procurement practices.
- Partner closely with project delivery teams to support job readiness and successful project execution.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage specialty shipments in a fast-paced environment. There is an expectation that the individual in this position will maintain effective, civil, and respectful working relationships with the University of Iowa campus community and uphold the University’s commitment to creating a welcoming and respectful environment for all.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the position, or an equivalent combination of education and additional related experience.
- Experience (typically 1 year or more) in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, or materials management, preferably with a focus in Information Technology or in an Information Technology environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing day-to-day warehouse activities (receiving, storage, staging, distribution).
- Experience managing inventory accuracy, including cycle counts, reconciliation, and documentation.
- Experience purchasing or procuring goods, including working with vendors, placing orders, and tracking deliveries.
- Ability to manage specialty or non-standard shipments (e.g. oversized, high-value, fragile, or time-sensitive equipment).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of warehouse safety practices and the ability to ensure safe handling and storage of equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Superior attention to detail with demonstrated commitment to accuracy and follow-through.
- Forklift certification.
- Experience working in a higher education, public sector, or large enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with IT equipment lifecycle management.
- Experience using inventory management systems, ERPs, or asset tracking tools.
