Medical Assistant - UI Health Care 1st Avenue Family Medicine Clinic

The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient-centered 60% (24 hours a week) Medical Assistant II (MA II) to work at our UICC 1st Avenue Family Medicine Clinic
. This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties or clinic locations, including Pediatrics and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics.

Under direct supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, registered nurse, nurse manager/assistant nurse manager, or other licensed designee, the Medical Assistant works as a member of the patient care team. The role performs technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in the urgent care setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit.

• Staff will support our Family Medicine Clinic patients.
• Under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.
• Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting.
• Duties may involve the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment.

Percent of Time: 60% (24 hours per week)

Schedule: Variable hours Monday – Friday between 7:30 am – 5:30 pm. No on‑call time, weekends, or holidays required.
