PRN Physical Therapist - North Liberty Medical Campus

Overview

PRN Staff Physical Therapists or PRN Senior Physical Therapists are invited to administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and to evaluate and interpret findings. This position will be assigned to the inpatient orthopedics setting and stationed at the North Liberty Medical Campus.

• Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment and treatment appropriate for patient s needs. Assignment will primarily be to adult inpatient acute care setting
• Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programs
• Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner
• Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality
• Attend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assigned
• Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public
• Performs special projects and tasks as assigned

The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus is part of NLH-Rehabilitation Therapy/North Liberty Hospital and Clinics. The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 2025. This 469,000 square foot facility will host UI Health Care s Orthopedics service line with clinical facilities including outpatient, inpatient and surgical venues, imaging, laboratory services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, retail pharmacy and emergency department, among others.

The department intends to hire one person either at the Physical Therapist or Senior Physical Therapist level based on qualifications. Please specify in your cover letter which position you wish to be considered for, or both.

Type of Position: Temporary — A staff member may serve in temporary status in a continuous appointment for no more than one year to meet an emergency or temporary need of the University. Employees in this classification will not be eligible for University Benefits.

• A minimum of a Bachelor s degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor s degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required
• Entry level experience in physical therapy in an inpatient acute care setting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required

• 1-3 years experience in Physical Therapy
• 1-3 years experience in providing physical therapy primarily to adults in an inpatient acute care setting
• Experience in critical care
• Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated leadership in a work or academic setting

Senior Physical Therapist Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor s degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor s degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required
• Entry level experience in physical therapy in an inpatient acute care setting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required

Senior Physical Therapist Desirable Qualifications:

• 1-3 years experience in Physical Therapy
• 1-3 years experience in providing physical therapy primarily to adults in an inpatient acute care setting
• Experience in critical care
• Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated leadership in a work or academic setting
