Job Overview
University of Iowa Health Care is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to provide advanced respiratory care services. This full‑time position offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and sign‑on incentives for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities- Administer oxygen and aerosol therapy.
- Apply ventilators and conduct arterial puncture as needed.
- Perform blood gas analysis and implement patient‑driven protocols.
- Assist in the administration of specialty gases and support other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of a Commission of Accreditation Respiratory Care (CoARC) approved program or national board registration within six months of hire.
- Current State of Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
- Current CPR certification card.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Greater than one year of recent ICU level experience.
- Experience with an electronic medical record documentation system.
- Currently registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Base salary minimum $57,071 for 100% time. Sign‑on incentive: $10,000 for candidates with 2+ years of experience and $5,000 for those with less than 2 years. Advanced respiratory care services differential up to $5,000 prorated based on percentage.
