Senior Electrical Engineer, Mission Critical - Traveler

• Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
• Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
• Develops budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using the automated M/E estimating system.
• Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during the preconstruction process and completes systems analysis for select projects.
• Develops mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process and assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
• Assists in developing sequencing requirements of various systems and provides solutions to meet schedule requirements.
• Reviews design documents to identify potential quality problems and helps develop constructability review reports.
• Performs job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner.
• Assists with the shop drawing/submittal process to comply with contract documents.
• Assists with the commissioning process, including developing pre-functional checklists, functional testing procedures, and actual functional testing.
• Leads, supports, and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn, ensuring proactive implementation of non-discrimination policies.
• Completes increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
• Reviews mechanical and electrical options, performs systems analysis, and recommends best systems for the project while providing value engineering suggestions.
• Coordinates mechanical and electrical scopes of work during the bid process and develops sequencing requirements for various systems.
• Provides scheduling input during projects and verifies contractor performance of functional tests.
• Reviews and approves shop drawings prior to submitting to the design team.
• Generates and issues the Commissioning Plan for approval to the appropriate parties and verifies deficiencies are corrected.
• Provides mentoring to less experienced co-workers and creates M/E tools and innovative solutions to continuously improve processes and work products.

• Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (intermediate level).
• Proficiency in MS Office (intermediate level).
• Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Develop proficiency in basic JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.
• Knowledge of means and methods of construction management.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field (Required).
• In lieu of the above requirement, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

• 5+ years construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).

• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
