Responsibilities- Assist Doctors and Graduate students at chairside with Dentistry procedures ranging from examination to root canals, retreatments, and surgical procedures.
- Maintain a safe work environment and use appropriate protective equipment, observing OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain and restock supplies and keep a clean, aseptic operatory and laboratory area.
- Expose and process digital radiographs and CBCT scans as requested.
- Operate necessary machines and instruments used in Endodontic Dental Assistant duties.
- Assist in sophomore lab, take digital radiographs, and distribute supplies.
Dental Assistant – GC25 (Merit)
Salary: $46,604.16
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
May require occasional overtime. An advanced starting salary may be possible based on exceptional qualifications.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements- Successful completion of a CODA accredited dental assistance program or one‑year full‑time equivalency in chairside assistant experience assisting in four‑handed method of dentistry.
- Must have a current certificate of registration to practice as a dental assistant issued by the Iowa Board of Dental Examiners (QDA).
- Must possess current Iowa certificate of proficiency in dental radiography (QDA).
- No additional work experience beyond the requirements for this position.
- May require Expanded Functions (EF‑1 and/or EF‑2) based on specific needs assigned by provider.
- Endodontics experience.
- Demonstrates excellence in patient care.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Current DANB Dental Assistant Certification.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records.
