Overview
The University of Iowa Parking & Transportation Department is seeking a Customer Service Representative to provide world-class customer service in a fast-paced environment. This position will review existing system processes, use them efficiently and accurately, and make recommendations for improvement. It includes creating and updating standards and practices related to all services provided by the Parking Services Office. The role may involve functionally supervising student employees, including training, performance monitoring, scheduling, shift coverage, and coaching.
This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.
- Provide excellent customer service to every customer over the counter and on the phone.
- Ensure data entry in AIMS is accurate and timely as it relates to permit types and sales/distribution dates.
- Assist in the ongoing enhancements of the Customer Service Representative training program for staff and students to develop best-practice standards for all functions within AIMS and to ensure excellent customer service is provided to every person, every time.
- Assist in hiring, training, coaching, and scheduling student staff to ensure best practices are followed in all transactions and that excellent customer service is provided to all Parking Services Customers.
- Assist in coordinating/preparing strategic plans that support the mission of the Parking & Transportation Department and the University of Iowa.
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience (typically 6 months) in administrative or customer service support role.
- Proficiency in computer software applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Demonstrated customer service and cash handling experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Functional supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
