Overview
The University of Iowa Military Science is hiring a dedicated Administrative Services Coordinator (100% appointment). The Administrative Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for the Military Science (Army ROTC) Program, requiring discretion, independent judgment, guidance review, communication, and organization. As the public face of the department, coordinators interact with ROTC cadets, students, staff, and visitors, answering inquiries as appropriate.
Responsibilities- Work directly with Army ROTC, Army ROTC, Iowa Veterans (IVETS), and Johnson County Veterans Administration personnel, active-duty military faculty, student cadets, and retired veterans and alumni.
- Manage Scholarship Tuition Program in accordance with Army directives. Understand the levels and types of ROTC Scholarships and the rules governing activation, suspension, and termination. Notify the university of changes in scholarship status. Verify accuracy of tuition invoices. Prepare, submit, and track payments.
- Integrate information and may run routine database queries to generate or produce reports.
- Routinely provide feedback on student cadet performance and notify Professor of Military.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in an administrative support role is required (typically four years of full-time professional administrative employment).
- Demonstrates a BASIC proficiency level in analyzing current work processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, and coordinating the people and resources needed to support organizational objectives.
- Demonstrates a WORKING proficiency level in strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, military personnel, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Demonstrates an EXTENSIVE proficiency level in carrying out ongoing office administration tasks effectively and efficiently in support of individuals, teams and/or unit with excellent organization and project planning skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail utilizing specific approaches/tools for cross-checking and error-free data gathering and input.
- Knowledge of Army guidance, instructions, and regulations regarding officer accessions, Army Cadet Command requirements, and Army ROTC University contractual obligations.
- Knowledge of military command and control structure.
- Skill in Army and Department of Defense data collection and processing systems, including CCIM and Ignited.
- Prior Army experience; prior Army ROTC experience highly desired.

- Work Modality:
On-campus; not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements. - Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $41,500 – $48,000; top of the range reserved for exceptionally qualified applicants. This position includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
