HOURS PER WEEK: Must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week with the option to work up to 40 hours per week during school breaks (maximum of 20 hours during the school year). Flexible hours between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Occasional nights and weekends.
BEGIN DATE: Approximately two weeks after offer acceptance and ongoing until graduation.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a currently enrolled University of Iowa or Kirkwood student. Up to one year of work‑related experience preferred. Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and be able to drive a van or car. Must be able to lift and carry boxes/furniture/items weighing up to 50 pounds.
DESCRIPTION
:
The UICA is looking for a student who is interested in supporting the Office Services area by assisting in running the mail center, reception desk coverage, and handling other administrative tasks and local errands. Onsite mail center responsibilities include processing incoming and outgoing mail, express services, internal sales of mailing products, collecting, sorting, and distributing inter‑office mail and packages. Supports special events and audio‑visual setup.
Distributes and restocks building supplies; pulls inventory materials from storage and assists in maintaining organized storage. Maintains regular communication with supervisor regarding department projects, issues, and objectives. Additional duties may include clerical tasks for UICA staff such as filing, inventory requests, and database coding. This position will run errands on campus and in the Iowa City area. The team also provides daily backup coverage for the UICA receptionist.
