DescriptionDo you have the mind of a detective and the heart of a social worker? Kansas Permanency Case Management has the job for you! We are looking for a full‑time Special Response Specialist to add to our team! A high school diploma or GED and two years of experience in child and family services are required. We will teach you the rest!
ADay in The Life as a Special Response Team Specialist
As a Special Response Specialist, you will collaborate with case teams, the Department for Children and Families (DCF), law enforcement, and other stakeholders to locate absent youth who are absent from placement. You will review case files, conduct social media searches, and contact family members and friends of the youth. You will engage with community partners and attend multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss strategies for locating and supporting these vulnerable youth.
You'll complete human trafficking assessments when necessary, ensuring that all efforts are trauma‑informed and culturally sensitive. Documenting your findings and maintaining close communication with agencies and families are crucial aspects of your role.
We are looking for someone with a passion for investigative work, compassion and empathy for the challenges faced by youth in foster care, strong organizational and communication skills, and a desire to engage and advocate for at‑risk youth. A self‑starter who is dedicated to serving children and families.
