Overview
We are looking for an experienced Engineer to work as a member of the Mitie Fire & Security Systems Operations Field service team. You will ensure effective delivery of PPM, Reactive calls and additional Small Works, ensuring compliance with all Legal and Regulatory requirements. You will carry out routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs, and installation of Fire alarms, CCTV, Intruder alarms, access control and related equipment to the relevant legislative and qualitative standards, alongside appropriate documentation and records in a timely and appropriate manner.
You should have excellent communication skills, alongside basic Microsoft Word and Excel literacy, and be capable of working to high levels of Health and Safety requirements. Previous experience in a similar role carrying out PPM, reactive calls and Small Works in the Fire & Security Systems industry, service testing and inspection to relevant standards, fault-finding techniques, and participation in company training to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge is expected.
The ideal candidate would have experience with PPM, Accident Reporting, or RAMS, and an ability to follow Health and Safety Legislation, preferably in the engineering field. Sharing technical and problem-solving abilities with colleagues and the ability to take initiative with little supervision is also ideal.
Responsibilities- Carry out routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs, and installation of Fire alarms, CCTV, Intruder alarms, access control and associated equipment and products to the relevant legislative and qualitative standards, alongside appropriate documentation and records in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Ensure compliance with all Legal and Regulatory requirements.
- Respond to PPM and Reactive calls and manage Small Works as required.
- Attend and participate in company-initiated training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical aspects of the role.
- Follow Health and Safety requirements and standards in daily work.
- Experience in PPM, Reactive calls, Small Works in Fire & Security Systems.
- Service test and inspection experience to relevant standards and codes, with fault-finding techniques.
- Strong communication skills and basic MS Word/Excel literacy.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and share technical/problem-solving knowledge with colleagues.
- Experience with PPM, Accident Reporting, or RAMS is a plus; familiarity with Health and Safety Legislation is preferred.
