Location:

For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office – Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness

Salary: £42,600 - £52,000 + performance related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

As a Customer Relationship Manager you will take ownership of a portfolio of high value grid contracts, acting as the trusted point of contact between customers and the wider teams at SSEN Transmission.

You will build strong, proactive relationships internally and externally (Developers, NESO & DNOs), managing contract progression and working through challenges in conjunction with project teams. You'll lead all customer communication e.g. progress, cost and programme updates and advocate for customers needs. You will use your commercial awareness, communication skills, and organised approach to chair meetings, maintain accurate records, and manage multiple priorities.

Most importantly, you will foster constructive relationships, even in challenging situations, to ensure project milestones are met and customer needs are understood across the business.

Please note:

at SSEN Transmission our customers are Distribution Network Operators, Generators and Large Demand Customers. This is not a sales or contact centre role.

You will
  • Manage a portfolio of high value grid contracts by understanding customer project status and progress, and reporting this into the relevant business areas. You’ll work closely with functions across SSEN Transmission, liaising with subject matter experts where appropriate.
  • Proactively plan, deliver, and report on effective engagement with the customer.
  • Manage strong relationships with potential and existing generation customers connecting to the SSEN Transmission network.
  • Act as the daily point of contact for both the customer and SSEN Transmission project teams, to foster successful relationships.
  • Oversee contract and portfolio management, ensuring milestones are being met in line with each project progression.
You have
  • Business to business (B2B) contract management experience is critical for this role, along with commercial and industry experience.
  • Experience of chairing meetings and skilled in taking comprehensive minutes. You must be comfortable with corporate IT systems and proficient skill at using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to balance varied priorities while maintaining accurate, up to date portfolio records, and an appreciation for document control.
  • Effective interpersonal skills that enable you to build, strengthen, and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external audiences. Skilled in encouraging cooperation, influencing others, and driving collaborative problem solving, with strong stakeholder management experience and confidence in advocating for customers.
  • Ability to develop and maintain healthy relationships in challenging project circumstances using empathy, diplomacy, and influence to bring people together and navigate differing perspectives.

Due to the Easter break, interviews are expected to take place from the 16th April.
