Position: Staff & Visitors Catering Assistant

You will be based mainly in our Food Hall but may be expected on occasions to provide cover in one of our Highlands Table coffee bars. You will deal with a high volume of customers whilst still maintaining the high quality and service standards required. You will have a proven track record of working in a similar establishment; previous Barista experience will be a distinct advantage, but not essential, as all training will be provided.

You will ensure that our customers will receive a prompt efficient service, quality beverages and products ensuring that you deliver a friendly and clean atmosphere.

You must have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, follow instructions and possess good communication skills.

An Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable for this post however full training will be given and you will be expected to sit your Food Hygiene Certificate within 3 months of taking up post if you don't already process this.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

  • Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro‑ratio basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
