CAMHS Nurse Practitioner – Learning Disability Nurse (fixed‑term secondment, NHS Ayrshire & Arran)
Job OverviewThis secondment will provide an experienced learning disability nurse with an opportunity to work within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The role involves delivering assessments and interventions for children and young people with moderate, severe and profound learning disabilities who also experience significant mental health difficulties. You will work alongside nursing, clinical psychology and psychiatry colleagues in a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments for children and young people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
- Plan and deliver evidence‑based interventions and support tailored to individual needs.
- Co‑operate with the CAMHS multidisciplinary team to deliver a specialist, therapeutic service.
- Exercise autonomous nursing judgement in line with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) code of conduct.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and share learning with the team.
Hours:
22.2 hours per week (variable between 14.8 – 22.2 hours).
Contract:
Secondment/fixed‑term until 31/05/2026.
