An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic, growing organisation headquartered in Inverness. We are looking for a Trainee Accountant who is eager to develop their career in finance within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the finance function across a range of core activities, including:
* Supporting month-end close, including preparation and posting of journal
* Assisting with the preparation of quarterly and annual budgets
* Matching, coding, and processing invoices and credit notes against valid purchase orders
* Completing supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
* Processing company credit card reports and ensuring compliance with company policy
* Preparing draft VAT returns for review by senior finance staff
* Responding to supplier queries in a timely and professional manner
* Liaising with finance managers to obtain invoice approvals where required
* Ensuring full compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and internal controls
Skills, Experience & Attributes
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual with the following:
* Essential:
Previous experience in a finance or accounts administration role
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (desirable)
* Studying towards ACCA or a similar professional qualification (desirable)
* Strong numerical ability with excellent attention to detail
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines effectively
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
* Proactive, self-motivated, and keen to develop within a finance career
