Barchester Healthcare has a fantastic opportunity for a Capital Accountant to join their Finance team and work closely alongside their existing Capital Accountant. Together, they'll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial information relating to the Group's capital expenditure.
Main duties of the jobAs part of a small, specialist capital finance function, the Capital Accountant will share responsibility for the co-ordination and control of capital expenditure reporting. Working side-by-side with the current Capital Accountant, they'll ensure the smooth running of the Cap Ex approval process, maintain the Fixed Asset Registers, and support the financial management of new developments and major projects. They'll also contribute to weekly and monthly reporting for operational teams, statutory reporting, and work jointly on preparing information for external auditors, tax teams and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Barchester Cap Ex approval system and support the Capital Team
- Maintain strong financial controls for capital expenditure payments
- Manage the Group Fixed Asset Registers, including disposals and motor vehicle capitalisation
- Prepare Fixed Asset Grids and fixed asset disclosures for statutory accounts
- Provide financial management for major capital projects and new developments
- Oversee the preparation of Group capital budgets
- Produce weekly capital budget reports and monthly Capital & Development Reports
- Chair or support Cap Ex Committee meetings
- Liaise with external auditors, tax teams, and complete National Statistics Returns

Person Specification Qualifications- ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS qualified finance professional with strong experience in capital accounting or fixed asset management. Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
