Project Manager – Substations (Scotland)

We are currently working with a leading UK engineering contractor to appoint an experienced Project Manager to deliver HV substation and grid infrastructure projects across Scotland.

This is a senior delivery role, responsible for taking projects from pre‑construction through to handover, working closely with clients, internal delivery teams, and supply chain partners.

You will be accountable for the successful delivery of substation projects, ensuring all works are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This includes full responsibility for programme, cost control, quality, client relationships, and site performance.

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of HV substation and grid infrastructure projects.
• Manage programme, commercial performance, and risk across multiple work streams.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong working relationships.
• Ensure compliance with H&S, quality standards, and industry regulations.
• Oversee design coordination, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.

• Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering substation projects

• Background in electrical or civil engineering within power, utilities, or infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of HV environments, substation construction, and grid connection works.
• Commercially aware with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and change control.
• Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable working with clients, DNOs, and delivery partners.

Scotland, with travel to project sites as required.
