Position: ASSISTANT MANAGER/RECEPTIONIST DISPENSER

The Surgery Brae Terrace Munlochy IV8 8NG

Munlochy & North Kessock surgery are looking for an Assistant Manager and Receptionist/Dispenser to complement our hard working team. We are a supportive and friendly practice just minutes from Inverness that enjoys excellent staff retention.

The post is for 32 hours per week, worked over 4 days, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and is permanent. This is a dual role working between reception and dispensary for 2 days and the other 2 days will be working closely with the administration team, Senior Administrator and Practice Manager.

Reception and dispensary role
  • Reception duties involve being the first point of contact for our patients. Our receptionists answer calls, book appointments and help guide patients to the right person, as well as dealing with a wide range of administrative tasks.
  • Within dispensary, you will be responsible for managing prescription requests and making up prescriptions. You will be asked to complete the Buttercups NVQ2 dispensary assistant training within a year of joining us.
  • We expect you to have excellent communication skills and be able to work on your own using your initiative.
  • Previous knowledge of docman and vision systems and experience in a GP surgery would be beneficial, but not essential, as full training will be given.
Assisting the Practice Manager and administration team
  • We are looking for someone with previous experience in a senior staff role or supervisory position, who will be able to support our Practice Manager and Senior Administrator with their duties.
  • You will have good organisational and IT skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the surgery.
  • Over time, you will assist with payroll, surgery protocols and policies, patient management systems and rotas, and help ensure timely submissions to the Health Board.
  • We anticipate that you will be able to take on some of our Manager and Senior Administrator's tasks when they are away.

You will require a driving licence and a car as staff travel between both Munlochy & North Kessock surgeries.

Pay will be negotiable depending on experience. Full time equivalent for this post is £30,000-£37,500.
